Every project now has its own tab colour, and 2 other new features we just shipped in Shift Version 147
Every project now has its own tab colour, and 2 other new features we just shipped in Shift Version 147

Hey Shift Community, Natasha from our Customer Support team here 👋

We just shipped three big updates I've been genuinely excited to talk about, so here's the quick rundown before you dig into the full post:

  • Tab groups: right-click any tab to pull it into a named, color-coded group. Synced across devices, pins to your bookmarks bar so it survives a restart.

  • Passwords & payments sync: end-to-end encrypted. New device, and your logins and cards are just there, no re-typing anything.

  • Settings, rebuilt: no more leftover Chrome settings page, it finally looks and feels like the rest of Shift.

I put together a full writeup with a quick video walking through each one if you’re curious to learn more: https://shift.com/blog/shift-version-147/

Let me know what you think!

-Natasha

ICYMI: Here's everything that's new in September
ICYMI: Here's everything that's new in September

September was a busy month for the Shift community, here's what you might have missed.

Back to school, on us. Students and educators get a free year of Shift Advanced, and we're giving away a full Apple bundle to one lucky winner.

What we shipped. Advanced Settings got a redesign (now in its own window with sidebar navigation) and Passwords & Payments now sync across devices with end-to-end encryption.

From the community. Our very own Michael Foucher talked to Leigh, a third-year CS student, about her tab-group-powered back-to-school setup as this month's guest on My Shift Setup. Our very own Shift Co-op, Kariman Hamad, shared her real (research-backed) study and browser routine for those heading back to school.
