As AI moves from concept to reality, accessibility must be built in from the start. The Microsoft Ability Summit shows how collaboration can help ensure AI works for everyone.
As AI moves from possibility to reality faster than ever, how do we ensure technology works for everyone?
We design with people with disabilities from the start. People with disabilities have helped shape some of the world's most transformative technologies, from closed captions to voice control. Today, that same spirit of innovation is helping define how AI is built, adopted, and used across industries.

Jenny Lay-Flurrie gets at something fundamental for all of us building technology today.
In my work, I see this every day. People with disabilities are not just beneficiaries of technology. We are contributors, decision makers, and leaders shaping how it evolves.
Our lived experiences help surface risks and uncover opportunities. They lead to better outcomes. When these perspectives shape how products are designed, the result is not just more inclusive. It's more innovative and better for everyone.
As AI continues to accelerate, this only becomes more important. Building it right means ensuring the people most impacted are not just included, but actively shaping what comes next.

AB’S Thoughts and Theories
Accessibility isn’t a feature — it’s a design philosophy. When AI systems are built with people with disabilities at the center, the entire ecosystem becomes more resilient, more adaptable, and more human. The innovations showcased here reinforce a simple truth: accessible‑first design accelerates AI maturity. It doesn’t slow teams down — it expands what’s possible for everyone.

At Ability Summit 2026, leaders Jenny Lay-Flurrie, Neil Barnett, Clint Covington, Ed Summers, and James Hunter reinforced what matters most: designing with people with disabilities from the start.
When you build with the community, you create better systems for everyone.

Human‑Centered AI isn’t about replacing people — it’s about elevating them.
At Toronto Tech Week, the message needs to be
clear: the future belongs to humans and AI working together, each bringing their strengths, each accepting their limits.
When technology reflects human purpose, innovation becomes meaningful.
When machines empower people instead of competing with them, progress becomes sustainable.
Happy tech week :)
Augmentation > Replacement.
Collaboration > Automation.
Human + AI > Either alone.

Attending AI Week was much more than just a technology update.
It was a valuable opportunity to reflect on how rapidly Artificial Intelligence is evolving, #transforming business models, customer experience, organizations, and skills.
Every keynote, demo, and case study confirmed one thing: AI is no longer “the future.”
It is already part of our present, and it will continue to #accelerate.
But the most important takeaway from this event is something else: the more #technology evolves, the more central the #human role becomes.
Because #vision, #criticalthinking, #empathy, the ability to lead change, and the capacity to build trust will always make the difference.
AI can enhance processes, speed up decisions, and #amplify capabilities.
But real value still comes from #humancompetencies, #leadership, and the ability to use technology #responsibly and #consciously.
That is why events like AI Week are so important: not only to stay updated on innovation, but to understand how we can prepare ourselves, as professionals, leaders, and organizations, to build a future where technology and human touch grow together.

Regional Managing Director & CEO @ Transcom | Global & Adaptive Leader Redefining Leadership beyond boundaries I Turning Complex Organizations into Integrated, Performance-Driven Models
There are events that are more than just “events.”
They become #accelerators of ideas, #connections, and #futurevisions.
That’s why tomorrow and Wednesday I’ll be attending #AIWeek in Milan.
AI is transforming the way we work, lead organizations, and build relationships with customers and people.
But the more technology evolves, the more essential #leadership, #empathy, and the ability to create #humanvalue become.
I’m looking forward to hearing new perspectives, connecting with people who are truly driving innovation, and exploring how to turn AI’s potential into concrete and sustainable experiences.
Who else will be there?

After 18 years with one of the world’s biggest tech companies, a veteran engineer chose to leave when the pressure to adopt AI became too intense. This story reminds us that progress isn’t just about speed — it’s about sustainability, inclusion, and respect for experience. Great conversations, thoughtful perspectives, and an important reminder that the future of AI is ultimately about people.
We were proud to have Hupside represented at the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) Impact AI Summit, with Jonathan Aberman moderating a dynamic discussion on how organizations can move beyond AI experimentation toward real-world impact.
One theme stood out throughout the event: while AI continues to evolve rapidly, human originality, judgment, and adaptability remain the true differentiators for innovative organizations.
At Hupside, we believe the future belongs to companies that can not only adopt AI but also identify and develop the uniquely human intelligence that drives creativity, leadership, and breakthrough thinking.
Thank you to NVTC, the panelists, and everyone who contributed to such an engaging dialogue around the future of AI, workforce transformation, and innovation.

In an era of rapid technological advancement, especially with AI, the most critical asset remains people.
True innovation doesn't come from algorithms alone; it arises from empowering individuals. By valuing and investing in our teams, we unlock the creativity and problem-solving capabilities that technology can augment but never replace.
Prioritizing human potential is the key to sustainable growth and meaningful progress. #HumanCapital#Innovation#Leadership#FutureOfWork#ArtificialIntelligence
🚨 Most tech teams are stifling innovation.
In the race for AI advancements, many get caught up in the grind, missing a critical truth: a culture of innovation is not just a nice-to-have; it's essential.
Here's why:
1. 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘂𝗿𝗲
❌ Teams avoid risky projects. Innovation stalls when failure is taboo.
2. 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗥𝘂𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗮𝘀
❌ Creativity dies the moment every move is monitored.
3. 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗼𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴
❌ Same skills, same backgrounds breed the same ideas. Diversity drives breakthroughs.
The best teams embrace risk, promote autonomy, and value diverse thoughts. The result? Rapid prototyping, increased engagement, and transformative ideas that keep pace with AI evolution.
I believe in systemic change, aligning technology with a culture that celebrates innovation.
How are you fostering creativity within your tech team?
