As browsers race to embed AI into every corner of the online experience, Canadian-born Shift Browser is asking a different question: should they? Techtalent.ca spoke with Shift CEO Neil Henderson about the company’s vision for a human-first browser—one where AI is optional, privacy is built in and users retain the final say. Shift’s research found that 44% of users worry about AI taking action without approval, while 26% have struggled to disable features they didn’t want. Those concerns shaped Shift AI. The company even pulled back an early version of its Intelligent Omnibox because it made the final choice for users, replacing it with suggestions that leave the decision in human hands. Henderson also discusses AI’s generational divide, the overlooked opportunity among older adults, building technology in Canada, and why the most valuable talent will combine technical skill with empathy, judgment and responsibility. #ArtificialIntelligence #FutureOfWork #CanadianTech #Privacy #Leadership Ella Van Fleet https://lnkd.in/gtAhiYdZ
