Low-code and AI-assisted tools are expected to drive the majority of new app development this year. Which means 𝐚 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫, usually the cheapest, least tested option available. That's fine right up until real traffic shows up. A launch post does well, a client shares the link, a few hundred people click at once, and the "afternoon project" either holds up or doesn't. Building fast has gotten remarkably easy. Hosting it like you actually expect people to use it is still the part worth taking seriously. Cloudflare's 2026 Threat Report came out a few months ago, and one line from it stuck with us: 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 "𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧" 𝐭𝐨 "𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧." 🔓 Instead of brute-forcing their way through defenses, a growing share of attacks now rely on stolen session tokens and reused credentials, walking through the front door with something that looks like a valid login. Their data shows the majority of recent login attempts involve credentials that were already compromised elsewhere. 𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐢𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐦. Any business running its own login system, client portal, or admin panel is exposed to the same pattern. "𝘚𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘭𝘦𝘴𝘴" is one of those terms that sounds like it solves a problem, 𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐭. 🤔 No servers to manage sounds great, right up until a traffic spike turns your bill into something unpredictable, or a cold start adds latency your users notice. For a lot of workloads, 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐞'𝐬 𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐫, 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐬. It works well for genuinely event-driven, spiky workloads.
