I use CropTool, which is immensely powerful. I'm happy to crop anything you throw at me, but if you want to try it out yourself and see if you like it, I got comfortable using it by working in Category:Images with borders. The Squirrel Conspiracy (talk) 16:11, 4 June 2020 (UTC)

You enable the tool on Commons at Special:Preferences#mw-prefsection-gadgets in the Interface: Editing and uploads section. It's entirely done through the web, with the software hosted on ToolServer.

Yabu Meizan image caption

Sorry for bothering you again, and since the hook has already been promoted to a prep area I realise it might be too late to make a change. It occurs to me that it's the norm for image captions in DYK to make clear which hook or article they relate to, and "Painted and gilded bowl, c. 1910" doesn't. It was thoughtless on my part to just copy the caption from the article rather than adapting it. Is it possible to get it changed to "Painted and gilded bowl by Yabu Meizan" ? @IZAK: right from the lead, I can see this is a bear of a topic. IMO the article should be blown up and started again. Using the word "superstition" is an immediate trigger for "silly hokum". There is certainly an element of "evil eye" and "evil spirits" in Judaism, but it needs to be presented in a scholarly way. Citing the Jewish News of Northern California right off the top does not yield the most balanced presentation. But I really don't have time or inclination to wade into this. Expansion of Queue page list of upcoming queues to always include all the preps as well as all the queues

Yoninah, I'd appreciate it if you would take a look at User:BlueMoonset/sandbox2, which is my proposed update to the queue update times list to always include preps.

As you can see, when queues are empty, it includes links to both the queue and the equivalent prep in that entry, since the prep will be promoted to that queue. All seven queues and all seven preps will appear, but it could take anywhere from seven lines (if all queues are empty) to fourteen lines (if all queues and preps are full), but it will be shorter by one line for each empty queue.

I hope this was what you were looking for. It took me a while to fight with the template code to avoid anomalies like extra spacing in the final cell, but I finally figured out the necessary work-arounds in the template code given what I wanted to accomplish. I'm still confused by the double lines such as "Queue 7/Prep 7", "Queue 2/Prep 2", but I think I understand that if, say, only Queues 3 to 6 have been filled, the unfilled Queue lines will appear as Prep lines. Yes, that's correct. The joint queue/prep lines are for currently empty queues that will be filled by the prep of the same number. So the prep will run at the same time as the queue, because it's what will be promoted by admins to fill that queue. Another way of putting it is that the first empty queue will be filled by the next available prep (which will have identical numbers), and so on until you run out of empty queues, and then after that all the remaining preps are shown, so you always know when all of the preps will ultimately appear on the main page. (You can also think of the table as having the first seven rows always being the queue lines, just as it used to be, but any empty queue rows also have links to the preps that will fill them. Then after that, the remaining preps are listed to aid in planning ahead.) Please let me know when you're confident it will work for you, and I'll update the code on the Queues page. Wikilink, 2nd try

While if one says Nach teacher it statistically means a woman, of the three men that come to mind with that title, one lived to 100 and also taught Mishna, another taught Historia and would today probably be over 100. The third is presently the rabbi of a shul.

Rather than base the Nach (Bible acronym) wikilink on a section in The Living Torah and Nach, this time I hosted, with more details about Nach teachers, their schools, and more citations, in a section of Tanakh. There's also an entry in Talk:Hebrew Bible. Pi314m (talk) 08:15, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
