Anobit Technologies, Ltd. (Hebrew: אנוביט‎‎) is an Israeli fabless designer of flash memory controllers.[1] They were acquired by Apple in 2012 as they were the maker of a flash-memory drive part for the iPhone.[2]

Background[edit]

The firm was founded in 2006 by Ehud Weinstein, Ariel Maislos, and Ofir Shalvi. It has a portfolio of 65 patents (24 granted and 41 pending),[3] including Memory Signal Processing technology.[4] It is headquartered in Herzliya, with an American office in Marlborough, Massachusetts. Investors in the company include, Boston based Battery Ventures.

Purchase[edit]

Anobit was purchased on January 6, 2012 by Apple Inc. for a reported $390 million.[5]
