ElephantDrive is another option for securely backing up your data online. ElephantDrive is unique in that it offers the user as much control over the backup and retrieval of their data as they'd like. There are "set it and forget it" options available, or, you can use the Elephant Desktop, Trunk Explorer and Trunk Drive to manage every aspect of the back up process as well as file sharing and all the other available capabilities.
ElephantDrive is powered by Amazon Web Services which has a reputation of security and reliability. This is also what helps to make ElephantDrive so affordable. They offer many different account options including 4.95/mo or $49.95/yr for the basic 1 computer home user all they way up to 20 computers for just $99.95/mo; all with the option for a free trial.
With ElephantDrive the capabilities to backup open and/or locked files is available, but only for the Pro users, which may be a drawback for some, however, many online backup providers don't offer this option at all.
As with most online backup services, security is a high priority for ElephantDrive. There are strict policies and procedures in place at their storage facilities that protect your information from the myriad of different threats out there. And, you are provided with a private encryption key (or you can choose your own) that is stored separately from the files it encrypted. Choosing your own key provides even more security as not even the employees at ElephantDrive will be able to access the contents of your files.
It's definitely of importance to note also that ElephantDrive just recently released full automated backup support for Mac users; one of the few online backup services to accommodate these users.
ElephantDrive offers a lot of different options for managing your account and storing your data. With file sharing capabilities, backup support for Mac users, the added security of their unique encryption key policies, and various account options, ElephantDrive will likely work for a wide variety of people looking for a secure online storage option.

Use it and love it. Totally saved me when my laptop refused to wake up.
I had a pre-paid, unlimited account with ElephantDrive for several years that I renewed annually.
Try your state’s attorney general’s office, consumer division. File a complaint. They won’t ignore a state attorney general.
ohh :-(Pity, I was going to give it a try.How much storage were you using on average before they cut you off?

Would love to know how this situation developed and/or see a reaction from ElephantDrive. Sounds pretty terrible.

I will be looking forward to the day your company closes.
To be honest, I no longer remember the exact size of my backup but it was multiple GBs.
It seems like you might have been subscribed to one of the plans we refer to as ‘legacy’ accounts. We stopped offering legacy account before the end of 2010. This change was made after listening to customer response and feedback. Six months after we stopped offering these plans, we informed all legacy plan holders that we will not offer these plans anymore. To continue service with ElephantDrive, we offered that you renewed with one of our other Home or Enterprise plans or restore your data. All legacy account holders were informed of these changes multiple times and allowed more than substantial time (at least 30 days) to make any change. Most users switched to other plans that provided them equal or greater value.
On line backup is good service. With this you can secure your data.
I will try this, I think this is a nice storage.
Do not trust this company.
I used this online storage before, but now I am using mimedia online storage.Online Storage
I don’t think you can make the assumption that not knowing where a online file storage stores its data means its unreliable, or that the big players in the field are inherently trustworthy with your data due to security.

I had a pre-paid secure online storage before. But eventually this is not enough for me to secure my files. Did this ElepantDrive offer a trial version just valid for a month or days maybe?
This is good news.
