Branding and Usage Guidelines for Applications using APIs and Marks of Beats Music™
All Applications that use the Beats Music APIs must follow the following guidelines. For a general overview please refer to the following Beats Music Brand guidlines: Beats Music Brand Guidelines 2014
Naming Guidelines
"Beats Music™", "The Sentence™", or "Beats" cannot be the first word in the name of your Application. You may only use the following references to Beats Music:
- "works with Beats Music™"
- "uses Beats Music™"
- "for Beats Music™"
Attribution
You must display the logo and/or wordmark of Beats Music on all pages that contain Content (including streaming music and metadata). Below are links that contain logo files that must be used. In addition, you must attribute all playlists to Beats Music. The following attribution will suffice:
- “This playlist originally created for Beats Music listeners”
All Applications using the Beats Music APIs and any Beats Music brand name (including The Sentence™), logo, image, or other assets must follow the Beats Music Brand Guidelines included in the downloadable graphics (in the .zip file). The Beats Music branding elements can be used in conjunction with your brand and/or logo that you create for your Application as long as doing so does not indicate that Beats Music is promoting any other entity, individual, product, or service.
In general, you cannot:
- Alter or modify (such as changing the color, size, or design) any Beats Music branding, name, or logo (including The Sentence™);
- Use the Beats Music brand for any commercial purposes including advertising within your Application(s); and
- Use the Beats Music brand in conjunction with any obscene, fraudulent, illegal, and/or pornographic content or activities.
Streaming Contention
All Applications must implement streaming contention. Streaming contention limits a Beats Music users to stream music from a single application at a time. The streaming contention documentation can be found here.
Rights of Beats Music™
Beats Music reserves the right to disable access to any APIs, at any time in its sole discretion and for any or no reason. For a complete set of guidelines, please consult the Beats Music APIs Terms of Use.
