    Diagnostic marker for acute kidney injury

    Lipopolysaccharide-induced acute kidney injury (AKI) in rats is correlated with renal TNFα increase and injury and leads to an upregulation in neutrophil gelatinase associated lipocalin (NGAL) mRNA, potentially enabling early diagnosis of septic AKI with NGAL.

    Blood pressure predicts postdialysis mortality

    Increased postdialytic blood pressure is associated with a greater risk of cardiovascular and all-cause mortality in chronic hemodialysis patients during four years of follow-up, and can predict long-term outcomes.
