Can anyone else confirm that Cube transparency is broken and turns down the overall brightness instead? I had the problem on 2 different virtual machines. Vmware and Virtualbox with Xfce4.

You need to rebuild compiz against the current protobuf version each time protobuf gets updated. It's really a PITA and I already requested a functionality to automate this in yay, but it's not implemented yet: https://github.com/Jguer/yay/issues/1671

@PhotonX Oh, it turns out the themes should have been thrown into /usr/share/themes, and not into /home/user/.themes

What should I do if I don't have metacity themes with pling applied to Mate for Compiz, but metacity themes for Mate are applied? I get this error:
(gtk-window-decorator:15623): WARNING **: 19:48:53.858: Failed to load metacity theme 'Orchis-Dark': Failed to find valid file for theme "Orchis-Dark"stanford.mings commented on 2025-05-01 23:58 (UTC)
